River States born singer, Mercy Chinwo defeated his co-contestant,
Joe Blue to emerge the winner of Nigerian Idol Season 2 and took home the
N7,500,000 cash prize, brand new SUV and a year recording deal worth
N7,500,000.
It was a tough competition between swaggerlicious Joe Blue
and fabulous Mercy. The journey to this stage had been full of tough drills,
star performances, grueling rehearsals and surprise evictions that both Mercy
and Joe Blue wriggled through up until the final moment. But Mercy was more
favored by the votes of the audience. Many fans and keen followers of the show had
been rooting for Mercy as her performance from the beginning of the competition
which started 6 months ago were spectacular, although didn’t know what to
expect as Joe Blue was also a worthy adversary.
The show has now seen two females become successive winners.
