Ms Hope Okafor, a 26-year-old commercial sex worker, has admitted stabbing her client, Samuel Sarumi to death. Police prosecutor, Insp. Ada Erondu disclosed this while giving evidence in the trial of the commercial sex worker before Justice Lateefat Okunnu of a Lagos High Court, Ikeja.

Ms Okafor is standing trial for stabbing Sarumi, a married man, on March 2, at Nice Time Hotel, Ipaja, which led to his untimely death.

Insp. Erondu of the state the...
Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, told the court that the defendant had admitted that she committed the crime.
"When I got to the hotel, the hotel manager and the owner told me Okafor was in her room, and that she was hiding from an angry mob. I was told that the victim, Sarumi, came out of her hotel room with blood all over him.
"When I got to the crime scene, I saw pieces of broken bottle on the floor which we later recovered.
The defendant was the only prostitute I met at the crime scene. Other commercial sex workers had absconded.

"She told me there that she stabbed the deceased, but that she didn't know the victim would die," the woman Inspector added.
The matter was adjourned by Justice Okunnu to a later date for judgement.
